Partnership between Washington and Freetown OBAs' under the GNI

The executive, members, and friends of the MBHS Alumni Association Washington Metro Chapter are pleased to inform you that a set of 140 used classroom furniture (connected desk and chair) and five used computers with monitors were delivered for shipment to MBHS through the MBHS Freetown Old Boys Association.

Shipment left the shores of US on Monday 23rd January, 2012 and is scheduled to arrive in Freetown within six weeks.

We trust that the Freetown OBA and the school administration will make the necessary arrangements for receiving and delivering the shipment to the school. We also hope that these items will help foster improved learning conditions.

Personal thanks go to all Washington Metro Chapter members and friends who in one way or another provided assistance in moving these items around, up to the point of getting them ready for shipping. See attached photos of MBHS folks who were instrumental in making this possible. Others who were very helpful but not featured in the photos are Mrs. Dorris Kessebeh (nee Jones) and Mr. Tejan Savage currently in Freetown.

Organizing and shipping these items entailed a lot of individual sacrifice and was not cheap. Storage; transportation and shipping costs came to approximately $3,600 paid for from the coffers of the Washington Metro Chapter. However, we believe it was well worth the investment.

I am appealing to all those who may wish to make financial contributions toward offsetting the association's cost for shipping, to please feel free to do so using the donate image link provided below
